AMX UNVEILS PRE-PACKAGED ENTRY COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM COMBINING VOICE & VIDEO OVER IP
New kit provides complete intercom and entry access solution
DENVER, Colorado – Sept 4, 2008 – AMX® continues to simplify technology with the introduction of the AMX Communication EXPerience Kits, providing voice and video communication over IP for internal communication plus greeting/receiving visitors at remote entry points.
The AMX Communications EXPerience Kits includes different variations of AMX products including the new 5" Modero® Wall/Flush Mount Touch Panel with Intercom (NXD-500i), a NI-3101 Signature Series NetLinx Integrated Controller (NI-3101-SIG), the Metreau Entry Communicator (MET-ECOM) and a PoE Injector (PS-POE-AF). In 60 days, AMX will add a SIP Communications Gateway 500 (CSG-500) which will enable users to make phone calls from any AMX intercom-ready touch panel.
“When installed together, The AMX Communications EXPerience Kits provide unique systems that combine intercom, entry access/communication, telephony and control – all in one,” says Robert Noble, chief technology officer of AMX. “It’s another example of how AMX simplifies human interaction with technology and why we’re the system of choice for controlling and automating the world’s premier residential properties.”
The Metreau Entry Communicator allows homeowners to greet guests via the built-in
intercom and video camera and can also unlock their entry gate or door from their NXD-500i touch panel. With the addition of the SIP Communications Gateway in the coming months, homeowners can place and receive phone calls from their touch panel and speak directly with visitors at their front door from any telephone in the world. Starting in October, with the inclusion of the SIP Communications Gateway, homeowners now have a complete communication system that enables them to place and take phone calls to or from any intercom-ready touch panel.
