At the Faculty of Science and Technology, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under Royal Patronage (VRU), gaming isn’t just a pastime—it’s a growing academic and community focus. To meet the rising demand for competitive gaming and content creation, the university recently launched a dedicated E-Sports room that’s fully equipped for tournaments, live events, and student projects.

Building a Professional E-Sports Space

The vision behind VRU’s E-Sports room was to create an environment where students could experience the excitement of live competitions while also learning to use professional-grade production tools. Flexibility, ease of use, and broadcast-quality results were key requirements.

That’s why the university selected a Vizrt Tricaster Mini X for video switching and streaming. With its 8-input capacity, the Tricaster provides plenty of headroom for multiple sources—including gameplay feeds, graphics, and cameras—making it perfect for dynamic E-Sports productions.

To cover the action, VRU chose two Telycam Vision+ 4KN PTZ cameras, each featuring:

Mounted in strategic positions around the room, the two PTZ cameras give the production team the ability to capture both immersive wide angles and dramatic close-ups—key to keeping viewers engaged.
