Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 04, 2024 – Today Lumens® Digital Optics announced that three of its PTZ cameras, VC-TR40N, VC-A71P-HN, VC-A71SN, have passed certification for the NDI HX3 format. This accreditation means that customers can use these cameras with confidence in the latest NDI production workflows.

The VC-TR40N is an award-winning tracking PTZ unit which uses a dual-lens system to analyze a scene and detect individuals, enabling the camera to track a presenter autonomously as they move across a stage or set. The addition of NDI HX3 means that VC-TR40N can integrate with NDI presentation equipment such as Lumens’ lecture capture systems, Vizrt production switchers, and third-party multi-viewers, teleprompters, and interactive tools to create the ultimate AV production solution.

With large 4K sensors and powerful 30x optical zoom lenses, the broadcast-level VC-A71SN and VC-A71P-HN PTZ cameras produce extraordinary video quality in all lighting conditions. The announcement of HX3 certification adds enormous flexibility to both models, allowing the cameras to be installed on cost-effective 1-Gigabit Ethernet networks while continuing to deliver excellent quality images.

All three cameras can be updated to NDI HX3 by installing the latest firmware, now available from its global website. With Lumens, users then have the ability to select their preferred version of NDI HX. Customers currently operating in an HX2 environment, can switch to HX3 at the press of a button, as soon as their wider workflow is ready to be upgraded to the newer format.

The next stage of NDI development is the transition to NDI Tools 6 support, which is expected to be available from Lumens in the second half of 2024.
