Vari-Rack is engineered for versatility as it sports an innovative design with features that help create a custom fit on-the-fly in narrow or shallow spaces like inside cabinetry, closets, halls, etc. The rack ships knocked down, although the top and base are pre-assembled except for the depth adjustment which is set during assembly. The width is a slim 19.214-inch to fit areas where a standard rack won’t, and the corner post mounting rails have printed cut-marks to help the installer if the height also needs to be trimmed in the field. The Vari-Rack supports a load up to 400lbs. The corner post rails are 11-gauge steel (tapped 10-32) and the base/top sections are 14-gauge steel. Taller racks (30, 38, and 44U) also include side supports brackets for torsional rigidity. Brackets in the top/base have a scale printed in inches, millimeters and rack units. They ship in the 21-inch depth position. To set a different depth, remove the four screws/nuts, expand to the desired depth and reinsert the screws/nuts. The 5/16-inch hex nuts may also need to be loosened and secured.
