Extenders Send AV, IR, RS-232 Control, and PoCc at Resolutions up to 4Kx2K
SAN JOSE, Calif. — March 11, 2013 — Atlona® today announced that the company is now shipping its latest HDMI® extenders featuring HDBaseT™ technology. Specifically engineered for maximum HDBaseT performance, the extenders provide reliable signal transmission to a distance of up to 328 feet (100 meters). Both the AT-HDTX-RSNET transmitter and AT-HDRX-RSNET receiver also provide bidirectional control with Ethernet, RS-232, and IR remote control for compatibility with third-party control systems. By using Power over Category cable (PoCc), AV, IR, RS-232, and power can be sent over a single category cable, eliminating the need for receiver power supplies.
The new RSNET family of HDMI extenders features locking HDMI ports, USB ports for in-field firmware updates, and captive screw connectors for IR, RS-232, and RJ45 Ethernet connectors. Resolutions up to UltraHD (4Kx2K) and CEC pass-through are also supported by the devices. Along with 3D, the RSNET family transmits all embedded audio signals including Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™. Convenient captive-screw terminations for control and power (24 vdc on HDTX and PoCc on HDRX) offer more reliable connections and help reduce wire bundles for cleaner-looking racks. For easy installation, the extenders are also available with dual-purpose rack and wall-mount ears.
“Our new HDBaseT extenders are our most powerful, adaptable, and compatible extenders,” said Steve Heintz, senior product manager, Atlona. “They can be used with all of Atlona’s new HDMI matrix switchers and distribution amplifiers and can easily extend 4Kx2K resolutions up to 328 feet with bidirectional Ethernet pass-through, RS-232, and IR connections. This combination of flexibility and control make these units perfectly suited for a variety of light commercial installations.”
