SIMOS is the control center for security and mobility in Stuttgart, Germany, which houses two independent control centers - the integrated control center (ILS) and the integrated traffic control center (IVLZ). The ILS provides around the clock operation and support for incoming emergency calls for the fire brigade and German Red Cross. IVLZ is responsible for monitoring the city’s traffic and tunnel surveillance cameras, as well as the electronic traffic display systems on the main roads, which is overseen by four dispatchers from the office for public order, civil engineering office, the Stuttgart tram, and the police.

SOLUTION

The ILS is equipped with a video wall comprised of 48 Barco UniSee 55” LCD displays, while the IVLZ control room video wall is made up of 14 Barco UniSee 55” displays. In addition, there are 8 displays installed across two crisis meeting rooms that have access to SIMOS sources. The video walls are powered by VuWall’s video wall controllers, managed by VuWall’s TRx Centralized Management Platform to provide the most comprehensive visualization and control experience, enabling SIMOS operators to easily control and distribute visual information and data to any display or video wall on the network.

RESULT

Despite a variety of sources that include VNC, websites, and IP sources that needed to be distributed across the four rooms to the video walls and displays at SIMOS, VuWall appliances and the TRx software platform brought everything together seamlessly, providing the most effective distribution of visual information. As a result, the organization has a flexible, world-class, and future-ready visualization infrastructure. Operators can see exactly what they need when they need it on the display of their choosing while providing the redundancy and low latency that control rooms demand.
