PLASA is a leading international tradeshow for Pro-AV audio, lighting and event-staging technology for live concerts, tours, theatres, nightclubs, lighting-scapes and attractions. It is also the official show for the Professional Lighting & Sound association of which Christie is a member and a major showcase for Christie’s Nitro Series of moving lighting heads and digital luminaires.

Following on from a full demonstration of Christie Nitro at Pro Light & Sound this year, Christie returns to PLASA a year from Nitro’s launch with famed lighting designer Bruno Corsini, who last November was responsible for the lighting up Mexico City’s El Zocalo as part of the centenary celebrations of the Mexican revolution and bi-centennial of the country’s independence. In which Bruno created a 75-minute lighting and video show seen by more than 90,000 visitors over a ten day period, which can be seen here.

Since then Bruno designed a special lighting and video showcase for Christie at Pro Light & Sound in Frankfurt and now Bruno joins Christie at PLASA with version 2 of the same showcase. It provides new lighting and stage designers a chance to speak with one of the worlds’ leading lighting and AV designers and a great opportunity to learn more about Christie’s Nitro series, their capability and performance from an expert user. And a chance to see Christie’s latest addition to the Nitro series the YK50 in a specially made for PLASA demonstration.

PLASA also sees the simultaneous launch of Christie’s new J Series. Which sees the evolution of Christie’s award-winning xenon illuminated 3-chip DLP projection systems. The new J Series will be simultaneously launched at both IBC 2011 and PLASA 2011, with Christie’s J Series installation projection systems on show at IBC 2011. And the new Roadster and Mirage  J Series models launched at PLASA at 2011, for extremely high-brightness, event staging and 3D applications respectively. Christie will reveal further information on the J Series shortly before its launch at IBC, so be sure to return here in the first week of September for further information.

Finally, Christie will again showcase Christie MicroTiles™ modular display building blocks. Since PLASA 2010, Christie MicroTiles has secured numerous accolades, amongst them InAVate Display Product of 2011 and the Janus Design Awards.
