Biamp Announces Title Sponsorship of 2020 PDX Jazz Festival

Biamp is committed to connecting people through extraordinary audiovisual experiences and celebrating other organizations and events that demonstrate a similar passion. In that spirit, Biamp is proud to once again serve as the title sponsor for the PDX Jazz Festival, a multi-venue series of concerts presented each February in Portland, Oregon. Nationally and regionally supported as a cultural tourism initiative in celebration of Black History Month, the PDX Jazz Festival is dedicated to preserving a truly American art form by presenting internationally recognized masters alongside local musicians.

The 2020 Biamp PDX Jazz Festival, running now through March 1st, will include an array of artists spanning the full breadth of jazz. Musicians, composers and producers who push boundaries with their art figure prominently. Opening weekend sets the tone for the coming musical journey, unlocking a vast diversity of jazz including performances by NEA Jazz Master Archie Shepp, Branford Marsalis, Larry Carlton and Stanley Jordon, Terry Riley, Antibalas and Kandace Springs.

Additional layers unfold during the first full week with Omar Sosa & Yilian Cañizares: Aguas Trio featuring Gustavo Ovalles, David Sanborn Jazz Quintet, Tuck & Patti, Terrace Martin, Eric Gales and Ron Artis II with the Truth, Kat Edmonson and Halie Loren, and Miguel Zenón Quartet. As the final weekend of the Festival emerges, the Stanton Moore Trio and NOLATET bring the “Big Easy” to Portland. Thundercat and Georgia Anne Muldrow, Harrison-Clark-Blades Trio, Dan Tepfer: Natural Machines, and Kenny Garret and María Grand provide a kaleidoscope of jazz to close out the 2020 Biamp PDX Jazz Festival.

“We’re proud to be a returning part of this long standing tradition and look forward to experiencing some exceptional jazz performances throughout the festival,” said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. “We also recognize that sponsoring the Biamp PDX Jazz Festival doesn’t just encourage extraordinary experiences—it’s also a great way to demonstrate Biamp’s commitment to being an involved, contributing member of the Portland area community.”

Weaving the community of Portland into the fabric of the Festival continues to be an inherent element of the event. Nearly 15 venues across Portland will host headline shows, and Portland-based artists, including Blue Cranes and Jimmie Herrod, will share the stage on such shows, paying homage to our rich stable of local jazz talent. The 2020 Biamp PDX Jazz Festival also supports educational initiatives in the city, including a partnership with Portland State University, which will host two headline performances as well as masterclasses for students.
